Nick Young, Chris Trapper 5/15/15 River Station, Poughkeepsie

Finally getting around to posting this show from May 15th, Funny how time flies.

I first saw Nick Young open for Chris Trapper in Fall 2013, when they played at The Derby in Poughkeepsie.  It was right before Nick's second record 'South Lima' was released. I hadn't heard of him before that show, so this is another perfect example of the importance of Rule #1. Always show up for the opener.

Nick Young - he's young, he's funny, he's adorable...and he writes great songs.

I'm not sure what song he opened with - I didn't have any paper! so I just typed one words into the phone - would he have opened with My Lips Will Ache? I don't know. I hate when I don't remember a notebook! / Long Reign / Tonight Will Be the Night / Too Early / Gone / Possibilities of Love / Enemies of Love / It's All Over Now

Then it was time for Chris Trapper.  He's a brilliant songwriter, and makes you laugh with his stories.  He is probably one of the best 'entertainers' I have ever seen (and that's saying something) - I first saw him at The Towne Crier, opening for Graham - 2006? (See Rule #1) I've seen him almost every time he's been here since.  By 'here', I mean in the Hudson Valley - Poughkeepsie, Pawling, Kingston (standing room only at The Skytop in 2007, Michael bought a CD)

Black Hearted Bride / Still in Me / Gone Again / Midnight Cabaret / Can't Shake It / Wait a Lifetime / Everything Shines / Kiss You Where You Lay / Not Normal / Any Little Town / Away We Go / Summertime / The Accident / ? I don't remember what happened here, but I wrote the quote 'better start the song before a fight breaks out' This Time / Boston Girl (done as FAST as humanly possible, I wonder what was in the note that the freaky lady handed him / Skin / Keg On My Coffin
