Trail Haiku for Last Day of Summer
Erie Canalway/ Trail of adventure for bikes / place to prove myself
Oh, turkey vultures / beautiful and disturbing / wide as I am tall
Alone on the trail / except for the guy who hides / every time I pass
A linear park / gets tiresome on the ride back / Does the bus stop here?
Amsterdam bike kid / overtakes me and brakes hard / Startled me, you jerk!
Schoharie Crossing / Museum - If you visit / post ride, you smell bad.
At Jim's Irish Pub / get a coke and a water / never beer and bike
Ninety miles round trip / a great way to stretch my legs / geez, darkness comes fast
Turtle, snake, fox, frog / two fawn, millions of rabbits / cats, dogs, pigs, cows, sheep
Piglet scares, retreats / when alone - pack of piglets / charge fence, bleat for food
So many cardinals / swoop in front of me, singing / brightest brilliant reds
