The Chooch went to the vet yesterday. He has not recovered (psychologically) from his conjunctivitis workup 2 weeks ago, so it was a challenge. He was scared to death, and had to be muzzled, with 2 techs holding him. The vet drew blood for the heartworm test, gave the rabies shot and also did a quick needle biopsy of that lump.

Poor Choochie has lyme disease and anaplasmosis. He needs to take Doxyclycline twice a day for 4 weeks. Here's the funny thing - Doxy used to be on the list of $4 abx from Walmart, and free from PC. When I called yesterday, it was over $200 at Walmart, and well over $300 at PC. What the hell? Supply and demand. Do that many people have Lyme? or Chlamydia?

So the compounding pharmacy can make up a liquid doxy for him at a cost of $67, and it comes in delicious chicken flavor (gross). What a racket.
