Spin Me Right Round Baby, Right Round...
Took a spin class last week, for the first time at a new place. Now, I haven't been riding in the house like I did last year, but I have been gymming it up pretty good all Winter.
The bikes in this class are different from regular spin bikes - they move - steer and tilt and are supposed to be more like riding a real bike. That's partially true, but I never spend so much time standing up pedaling in real life. It's torturous! although I'm not sure if it was killing my quads because I had started the day with a 6am class at the other gym.
This gym has music videos on the TV screen too, but I think I'd like to try a sim ride - the power of the mind to make you think you really are riding up a mountain, and hooray, coasting down the other side! I did feel pretty good when this class was over...(happy I survived? haha)
It is super competitive to get a bike in this class though - there're only 6 seats per class, 2 classes per week - you have to sign up weeks in advance...which I should do now. I have that big ride coming up.
