The Hollow is someplace you gotta be when the doors open, or you'll never see a thing - and their website said doors at 8, show at 9. So...I was a little surprised when Nikki Lane was already playing at 8:05 when I got there...you remember the rule, don't you? Always show up for the opener.

Good thing I saw her last week at the Heartbreaker Banquet (and in Nashville at Americana Festival 2013...hmm, any other times?) or I would have been really annoyed! I was having short girl situation, and you know I like to see live music...

She is touring with Shakey Graves, and it appears that his time has come - judging by the massive tourbus idling out front all night. There was a van and trailer around the corner that had her logo...not the glamorous life yet.
