Edward Burns 11/6/15 Page Hall

Edward Burns was in town as a guest of The Writers Institute.  Originally, it was advertised that his most recent indie film - Fitzgerald Family Christmas (2012) - would be screened, so imagine my surprise when instead, two episodes of his TNT series 'Public Morals'  were shown. It's an Irish cops vs the Irish mob show, set in the 60s.  I never watched it on TV, and probably would not have gone to Page Hall if I knew of the change...although the show was ok enough.

After the show, Edward Burns answered questions from the audience; he talked about how he made 'The Brothers McMullen', and had a little chat on stage with William Kennedy.  (I know I've said it before that I thought Ironweed was unreadable - but I was young; maybe I would appreciate it more now, if I ever attempt it again).

Big Daddy went with me, and since then we did watch 'Fitzgerald Family Christmas' from Amazon.  He liked Public Morals better than I did...
