Colin Hay 6/24/15 The Egg
On his night off from touring with BNL and the Violent Femmes, Colin Hay took a side trip to Albany and entertained everyone in attendance in the almost sold out Swyer Theater of The Egg.
His banter is low key and hilarious as he relates a quip, a joke, an observation. He told some very touching anecdotes - Last time I saw him was after his father died and Colin had spoken a lot about that then, and the meaning behind the song 'Water Over You' - this time he spoke of his mother, who died a few years ago, and the meaning behind the song 'Did You Just Take the Long Way Home'. He speaks of his childhood and his parents with great affection. After you've finished laughing at his tales, you realize how much he's endeared himself to you...He's lovely, although I haven't heard the Fbomb dropped so liberally since Hamell on Trial.
